Hello there, fellow subscribers! Welcome back to another weekly edition of the SeriousXM newsletter. For all you first-timers, welcome aboard! If you’ve been here a long time, I thank you for continuing the ride along with me and supporting this newsletter!
I apologize that I missed last week, but honestly, there wasn’t actually any news that took place last week so, outside of a few events, there really wasn’t anything to post so I just took last week off.
I’m back though and there still isn’t much news at all, but there are still a lot of events to unpack here so that’s why I’m back for this week.
If you haven’t done so already…
Subscribe for FREE, share it with your family, friends, loved ones, and strangers who also subscribe to SiriusXM, and even donate today if you do appreciate my work very much. Now onto this week’s edition…
The Latest News
Another new SXM podcast. What a surprise.
It seems like every week or two, there’s always a new podcast coming out from SiriusXM so its no surprise that another one has come out. This time, its from Jose Mangin.
He’s a star of heavy rock and metal music on SiriusXM as a host, curator, and lead ambassador for Octane (SXM 37) and Liquid Metal (SXM 40). Now, he takes things personally with music that he loves on Metal Ambassador (which is also his nickname), a new monthly podcast that’s available exclusively on the SXM app.
It features Mangin in conversation with notable artists from all walks of life who love heavy metal just as much as he does.
New Channels
This one is not permanent and is actually not that new because we’ve covered it here before. Yet, it’s back which makes me feel like they’ll probably devote a 24/7 channel to this at some point, whether it’s in-car or online only.
MasterClass is back once again on SXM.
Yeah, its back again. From now until May 14th, hear MasterClass on SiriusXM which will connect you with the world’s top leaders and instructors on inspiring lessons that’ll teach you how they got to where they are now.
This time, the channel is on SXM 109 but still on both satellite and streaming with the SXM app. It features programs from MasterClass where you’ll be able to learn how to make music with Nas, learn how to cook from Gordon Ramsay, perfect your pitch with Shonda Rhimes, how to win anything with Lewis Hamilton, how to make it big time in filmmaking with James Cameron, and so much more.
If you want to be inspired to start creating or changing your life for the better, this is a great way to do so, and its runs 24/7 on SXM 109, again until May 14th.
Events
Back to the events that fast since there really wasn’t that much news or any channel changes at all.
First of all, we’ve told you about the specials taking place over at Mandatory Metallica (SXM 105), the temporary limited-run channel of all things Metallica. Here’s a reminder of what to expect this weekend into next week.

Pearl Jam is going on tour across North America.
The headline may not seem like this is connected to SiriusXM in any way, but hear me out on this one.
Pearl Jam announced this week that they’ll be going on an all-new North American tour this year, performing nine shows in August and September. Yesterday, the band’s own SXM channel Pearl Jam Radio (SXM 22) released more details about the 2023 tour, as well as music by the band and more.
This weekend, there’s special programming for Record Store Day (Saturday, April 22nd) and recent interviews on Pearl Jam Radio featuring former member Jack Irons and lead guitarist Mike McCready’s band, The Rockfords. Both interviews are available now on the SXM App now, but here’s when you can hear them this week.

Sports
Its time to find out what’s going on in sports and there’s actually a lot of action this time of year, with MLB and MLS regular seasons in full swing, and so is plenty of action in the world of motorsports and golf (we’ll talk about all of that down below), but what leads it off is the NBA and NHL playoffs that are now underway to determine both sports’ newest champions.
🏀: NBA Playoffs are here!
Its here folks. Over the next two months, we’ll find out who’ll make it to the top of the NBA world with the 2023 NBA playoffs.
All games will be carried by SiriusXM, of course, because they have the rights to every single NBA game in audio.
Now, considering that there are still 3-4 games a night on any given day, I won’t post schedules for now. However, once we get to the Conference Finals and eventually to the Finals, I’ll be able to post schedules by then. According to the schedules, it looks like that most, if not all, of the playoff games, will be aired on these four channels: ESPN Xtra (SXM 81), FOX Sports (SXM 83), SiriusXM NBA Radio (SXM 86), and one of SXM’s in-car NBA Play-by-Play channels (SXM 212).
You also have hometown broadcasts of each playoff team available on streaming packages…
(#1) Milwaukee Bucks on SXM 896 vs. (#8) Miami Heat on SXM 895.
(#1) Denver Nuggets on SXM 887 vs. (#8) Minnesota Timberwolves on SXM 897.
(#2) Boston Celtics on SXM 881 vs. (#7) Atlanta Hawks on SXM 880.
(#2) Memphis Grizzlies on SXM 894 vs. (#7) Los Angeles Lakers on SXM 893.
(#3) Philadelphia 76ers on SXM 902 vs. (#6) Brooklyn Nets on SXM 882.
(#3) Sacramento Kings on SXM 905 vs. (#6) Golden State Warriors on SXM 889.
(#4) Cleveland Cavaliers on SXM 885 vs. (#5) New York Knicks on SXM 899.
(#4) Phoenix Suns on SXM 903 vs. (#5) Los Angeles Clippers on SXM 892.
🏒: NHL Playoffs are also here!
Yep… the NHL playoffs are here as well. Time to figure out over the next two months who’ll receive Lord Stanley’s cup, which some consider the most beautiful iconic trophy in all of sports.
Once again, SiriusXM has the rights to every single NHL game in audio so its no surprise that they have coverage across its sports plethora of channels.
Same as the NBA situation… 3-4 games on any given day throughout the week so I won’t post schedules here until it gets to around their Conference Finals series as well. Also, just by looking at the schedules, it looks like the majority, if not all, of the games, will also be on four channels as well: SiriusXM NHL Network Radio (SXM 91), Canada Talks (SXM 167), and the first two of SXM’s in-car NHL Play-by-Play channels (SXM 219 and 220).
Yes, SiriusXM also has the hometown broadcasts of each playoff team available on the streaming packages…
(#1) Boston Bruins on SXM 922 vs. (#4) Florida Panthers on SXM 932.
(#2) Toronto Maple Leafs on SXM 947 vs. (#3) Tampa Bay Lightning on SXM 946.
(#1) Carolina Hurricanes on SXM 925 vs. (#4) New York Islanders on SXM 938.
(#2) New Jersey Devils on SXM 937 vs. (#3) New York Rangers on SXM 939.
(#1) Colorado Avalanche on SXM 927 vs. (#4) Seattle Kraken on SXM 944.
(#2) Dallas Stars on SXM 929 vs. (#3) Minnesota Wild on SXM 934.
(#1) Vegas Golden Knights on SXM 949 vs. (#4) Winnipeg Jets on SXM 951.
(#2) Edmonton Oilers on SXM 931 vs. (#3) Los Angeles Kings on SXM 933.
🏈: The NFL Draft is almost here!
One of the biggest events on the NFL calendar is almost here… the 2023 NFL Draft.
This year, its live from Kansas City, and SiriusXM will have coverage on SiriusXM NFL Radio (SXM 88) and on SiriusXM College Sports Radio (SXM 84). There’ll be live coverage next Thursday, April 27th, and next Friday, April 28th from 7:00pm-12 Midnight ET (6:00-11:00pm CT; 4:00-9:00pm PT) with coverage next Saturday, April 29th from 12 Noon-7:00pm ET (11:00am-6:00pm CT; 9:00am-4:00pm PT).
There’ll be plenty of interviews with the commissioner, coaches, GMs and future football stars and announcements of all selections through all seven rounds.
Jason Horowitz will lead the broadcast team with expert analysis from former NFL scout, coach, and front-office executive Pat Kirwan, former NFL Q.B. Jim Miller, and former coach Rick Neuheisel. After the each broadcast of those three days, there’ll be live call-in shows where fans can share their reactions and discuss their favorite team’s picks. Alex Marvez and Kirk Morrison will host the Thursday and Friday shows while Zig Fracassi and Ryan Leaf will host the Saturday one.
Before the Draft even takes place, there’ll be a special LIVE broadcast from the NFL Play Football Draft Prospect Clinic and Community Event at Central High School in Kansas City, hosted by Rick Neuheisel and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers G.M. Mark Dominik from 11:00am-1:00pm ET (10:00am-12 Noon CT; 8:00-10:00am PT).
And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also coverage on SiriusXM College Sports Radio broadcasting LIVE from Taps on Main in downtown K.C. on Thursday, April 27th, and Friday, April 28th from 6:00pm ET (5:00pm CT; 3:00pm PT) through the final selection for each day. Kris Budden will anchor and joined by Mark Dominik and former NFL players E.J. Manuel and Jacob Hester.
⛳: The PGA is hitting the Big Easy in Louisiana!
If somehow, none of the sports mentioned are your thing, then maybe its golf. This weekend, the PGA Tour is in New Orleans for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which is apparently PGA’s only team event for the year.
They’re playing at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, a New Orleans suburb. As obvious by now, all coverage can be heard on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio (SXM 92). All coverage for the entire weekend will be at 1:00pm ET (10:00am PT).
🏁: NASCAR is in Talladega, one of the sport’s toughest racetracks.
If you don’t know nothing about NASCAR, Talladega Speedway is considered to be one of the sport’s biggest, toughest, and baddest racetracks. Its one where you’re definitely GUARANTEED to see multiple crashes, wrecks, and cautions.
Oh, and NASCAR is there this weekend for its races. As always, you can hear it on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (SXM 90).
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 22nd
4:00pm ET (1:00pm PT) - NASCAR Xfinity Series: Ag-Pro 300
Sunday, April 23rd
3:00pm ET (12 Noon PT) - NASCAR Cup Series: Geico 500
This week’s Driver2Driver channels…

Joey Logano #22 - SXM 982.
Well… I’m done. That’s it for the newsletter for the week. You’re now caught up-to-date. I thank you for reading this week and for supporting me and this newsletter every week.
I also wanna say this… in the time I’ve been writing for this week’s newsletter (from 5-8pm ET yesterday), I’ve gained four new subscribers and gained an additional six from earlier in the day, all thanks to promoting it out there via Reddit. I now have 225+ subscribers and growing! It is slow but it’s something and I’m proud of it.
I thank you all so very much and if you like what you see, tell someone about it and share it! It really helps further bring more people to my newsletter and this community of SXM fans I’m helping to build around here.
Until next week, please stay safe and take care of each other. Have a great weekend!
