The Latest News
Two of SXM’s film-themed podcasts are renewed.
This week, SiriusXM has renewed two of its film-themed podcasts, one of which you’re seeing the artwork for: How Did This Get Made? The other one is Unspooled.
Both shows will be kept by SiriusXM’s comedy podcast studio, Earwolf, which will continue to be produced and distributed by them.
The long-running podcast HDTGM? has been running since 2010 and has grown to over 40 million downloads per year. Unspooled has been around since 2018 and has been downloaded over 23 million times.
New episodes of both shows will continue to be available every Thursday (Unspooled) and Friday (HDTGM?) on the Stitcher and SXM apps plus all major podcast platforms.
Special Holiday Merch!
No, you are not reading this wrong. SiriusXM is really giving out merch for the holiday season!
They got a little bit of something for everyone inside this store from ugly sweaters to ornaments, T-shirts, mugs, beanies, and so much more. Get 10% off each order with the code SiriusXM through New Year’s Day.
The store can be found here. I already got my eyes on a few things to buy so… we’ll see.
Channel Changes
There are at least three changes to tell you about here. One is temporary, the other looks to be permanent, and more Xtra channels take the stage.
Radio Hannukah is back!
Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate it! The holiday’s 8 days of lighting the menorah begin tomorrow, Sunday, December 18th. Once again, SiriusXM will celebrate it with its own holiday-themed channel, as previously mentioned before.
Radio Hanukkah (SXM 638) has an extensive collection of contemporary, traditional, and children’s music themed around the festival, as well as prayers and daily reflections. This is the perfect accompaniment to the Festival of Lights as you’ll find songs from modern Jewish singers plus traditional fare who provide beautiful choral arrangements of classic Hanukkah songs.
Carlin’s Corner has been put into a corner… for good.
So I was checking the updated lineups that SiriusXM usually updates every couple of weeks or so. There’s always a new channel coming on, but also another channel that bows out. I’m sorry to say but it looks like this one is done for good.
Carlin’s Corner, which was online-only channel 770, seems to have been taken off the streaming lineup meaning that after more than a decade of being a part of the lineup, it has taken its last comedic bow.
While it still shows up on the website, when you check the PDF file that gives you the lineup, it is no longer listed so it seems that they’ve stopped airing it.
As a matter of fact, thanks to being a subscriber, I can confirm that Carlin’s Corner IS no longer available. A looped message is being played telling listeners to redirect to its other comedy offerings…
Carlin’s Corner is no longer available on SiriusXM. You can still hear Comedy from your favorite stand-up icons on Comedy Greats Channel 94 and Comedy from legendary comedians of the past on Comedy Classics Channel 772 on the SXM app, and web player.
Carlin’s Corner is no longer available on SiriusXM. Listen to our other hilarious stand-up Comedy channels on the SXM app and web player. Just search ‘Comedy’ for more Comedy content on SiriusXM.
There are more Xtra channels available now.
If you subscribe to SiriusXM’s streaming plans, five new Xtra channels have recently taken to the airwaves. They are available in this order.
Found Sounds - ASMR Recordings of Objects
Soft Spoken - ASMR Recordings of Voices
Freestyle Dance - Freestyle Dance and Club Music
Dollhouse - Fun, Flirty Hits from Women
Mom Jeans - Vintage Soft Rock and Pop
With these additions, SiriusXM’s Xtra offerings are now 213 channels long. And remember, that’s in addition to the 425+ channels available on traditional+streaming plans.
Events
Time for the events part and while I did say it was gonna be all about Sports, there are a few more events, outside of sports, that have come up to tell you about.
TikTok Radio’s Top 20 Countdown of 2022
Unfortunately, I gotta mention this. I may be young, but I don’t use TikTok whatsoever.
Nonetheless, there’s a channel devoted to it called TikTok Radio (SXM 4; XL) who’ll deliver the year’s most-used songs on TikTok.
The countdown is available now on the SXM app.
Wanna Guest DJ on Pearl Jam Radio? This is your chance.
If you ever wanted to Guest DJ on Pearl Jam Radio (SXM 22), this could be your chance to do so on their program, Wishlist.
Just send them an email to pjradio@siriusxm.com and include five Pearl Jam songs you want to play. Songs must be studio releases or live tracks from official bootlegs. If you’re selected, SXM will email you back with further instructions. Good luck!
And if you are wondering when you can hear Wishlist episodes, here you go…
Tuesdays at 6:00pm ET (3:00pm PT - premiere)
Thursdays at 11:00am ET (8:00am PT - replay)
Sundays at 12 Noon ET (9:00am PT - replay)
It is almost time for Kids to track Santa.
Its almost that time for Santa Claus to be making his trip around the world to deliver gifts to good little boys and girls (and maybe even young adults too) who are on the nice list this year.
Starting Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th at 3:00pm ET (12:00 Noon PT), Santa’s tracks and paths will be followed closely on Kids Place LIVE (SXM 78) with help from NORAD, the North American Air Defense Command.
During the special, it will track Santa’s path through continents, countries, and time zones to deliver gifts around the world via his Reindeer Power. Mixed in with live, up-to-the-minute reports will be family-friendly holiday tunes all day and night long.
If you got kids, remind them to make sure they’re fast asleep before Santa arrives to deliver those gifts.
Sports
Finally, I can get to the sports section. There’s a lot to talk about here, but first, the upcoming specials SiriusXM has devoted to this.
First, Mad Dog Sports Radio (SXM 82) will have the Top 10 Sports Moments of 2022. That’ll be hard to figure out as there were plenty of standout games, performances, and memorable moments from the last year of sports. But some of the highlights will include…
🏈: The Epic Chiefs/Bills AFC Divisional Playoff game.
🏈: The L.A. Rams run to their second Super Bowl crown, also on their home turf.
⚾: Aaron Judge’s American League record-setting home run chase to the new record of 62 HRs.
⚾: Albert Pujols’ chase to 700 HRs after it looked inexplicably impossible earlier in the season.
⚾: The Astros’ World Series title, beating the Philadelphia Phillies in 6 games.
🏀: The Golden State Warriors Championship run, beating the Boston Celtics in 6 games.
🎾: Greats Roger Federer and Serena Williams’ retirements.
⛳: Tiger’s return to Golf after multiple injures kept him sidelined for most of the last two years.
⛳: The fight of the PGA Tour against the new Saudi-backed LIV Golf league.
So much more…
This special will be sprinkled throughout the holiday season on the channel.
Next, SiriusXM F.C. will have its Best XI of 2022, taking a look at the World Cup (more on that in a minute), the Yates Report, the MLS Season (including the MLS Cup), and the UEFA Champions League. That will air throughout the holidays.

A lot of them were played over the years but only the Top 5 will be mentioned and hear NBA Referee Joey Crawford and legendary retired Hall of Fame Broadcaster Marv Albert look back on these games on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning.
Also, prior to the Christmas Day games this year, there’ll be a two-hour Christmas Day Preview Show as well. On Christmas Day itself, these five NBA games will be aired on SiriusXM NBA Radio…

⚽: The 2022 FIFA World Cup ends this weekend.
Finally, after all this time, we’re now down to the two finalists who’ll compete for soccer and sports’ ultimate crown… the 2022 FIFA World Cup Championship Trophy.

After nearly a month of exciting action, it all comes down to just these two games before the FIFA World Cup returns in 2026 and is hosted by us, the United States, as well as Canada, and Mexico in an expanded 48-team format from the current 32.
🏈: College Football Bowl Season is on.
After nearly four months of the college football season, we’re down to the final 45 games in the postseason, or as its better known, the bowl season. Finally, I’m done. Not just for today, but for the year. Thank you so so much for reading, and subscribing to my weekly newsletter. I really do appreciate it. I am THE source for bringing you the latest SiriusXM news, notes, events, and happenings every single week.
I promised you throwbacks but I had to leave it out because space was limited on this edition. I want to make sure all subscribers receive every piece of information as seen here.
Before I go, the usual plugs, and I hope you can contribute today…
I really do need this relaxation so the newsletter will be away for the next two weeks. During that time, no new news or events will be mentioned. I will only come back when significant breaking news warrants a special edition. But for me, I’m taking a break.
So… the next time I will talk to all of you once again will be Friday morning, January 6th, 2023 at 7:00am ET (4:00am PT).
Have a great rest of your weekend, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and most importantly…
